Foligno
Foligno rises up on the banks of Topino river and it is one of few Umbrian cities built in the plain.The Romanic church of S. Mary Infraportas preserves precious frescoes dating back to the 13th century and the Abbey of Sassovivo, only less than 6 km from the city centre, give the real idea of the mystical athmosphere of Benedectine religious places.
The most actractive area in Foligno is surely Repubblica Square where the Town Hall, Pretorio Palace and Trinci Palace face on.
Among the most important events taking place in Umbria, rich of historical, cultural and local traditions,do not miss in Foligno the festival tournement of Quintana, during the months of juin and september.



Bevagna
Bevagna is located on the western fringe of Foligno plain.
The churches of S.Michael Arcangel and S.Sylvester, and the beautiful Gothic Palace of Consoli are the jewels of the town.During your visit, do not forget to visit the other monuments that testify its ancient origins: the medieval town portals, the ruins of a temple where the medieval church of Our Lady of snow was built later, the Roman theater and the wonderful mosaics representing marine scenes, probably belonging to a thermal bath building.During the month of juin  you can enjoying visitin the historical " Market of Gaite"



Spello
Spello is situated on a spur of the Subasio mountain, between Assisi and Foligno.
Among the several Roman remains that the town well preserves,the town walls,  the theater and the amphitheater ruins are the most important.
Don't miss the splendid town portals,as Porta Consolare,Porta Urbica and Porta Venere, dating back the Augustean period.
The wonderful Baglioni chapel is the real artistic jewel of Spello, with its beautiful paintings representing Annunciation,Nativity and Dispute at the Temple, all religious scenes painted by Pinturicchio.
Nearby you can visit S. Andrew's church, which contains another Pinturicchio 's painting.
For a complete tour, a look to the Town hall, the Repubblica Square,S. Claudius Romanic church,and the "Round church", built during the Renaissance period, with its octagonal cupola.



Norcia
Norcia rises up  between the banks of Sordo and Torbidone rivers, and it is the largest town in the region.
Its origins are ancient and mysterious:the historicians write that Norcia was already important during the Punic wars,and under the Roman era it grew up as political centre.
Several earthquakes, which are usual in this area,damaged the town and its historical monuments, but meticolous works of restauration are giving back its original structure.
Norcia is known throught the world because it is the birth-place of a great religious man: S. Benedict, the founder of Benedectine order, whose words where "Ora et Labora" ( pray and work).
Such as all the cities and towns in Umbria, Norcia has got its own cultural events, beautiful landscapes and local traditions:its cuisine and its food are very famous and tourists can enjoy tasting its typical local specialities.
During your tour, don't forget to take a look to the Cathedral and to the Castellina, a four-sided strong-hold, built during the Renaissance period and now seat of the Municipal Diocesan Museum.
Close to Norcia,the village of Serravalle, a lovely place where tourist can find the magic atmosphere of a small country lost among the green hillsides, perfect for people who like trekking and walking open-air.



Cascia
Cascia is situated near the Corno river.Its ancient origins dating back to the Roman era, but it had its major splendor during the Middle Ages.
This lovely city is famous all around the world for its most illustrios personage: S. Rita, beatified in 1900 and venerated in the sanctuary located in the city.
Don't forget to take a look to S.Francis gothic church, with its beautiful rose-window and ogival portal;S. Antony Abate church, dating back to the 15th century and rebuilt during the baroque period, and S.Mary Collegiate church, one of the city oldiest buildings.
Finally, the Carli Palace, fine example of the city's civil archtecture.


Park of Colfiorito
The Ramsar conventions declared this area of international interest, for both its marches rich in plant and animal species, including characteristic peat, and the presence of several and important "Castellieri", remains of prehistoric dwellings dating back to the 10th century among the hilltops.
Ideal area for people who love nature, bird-watching and excursions. 


St. Mary Church of Plestia
This sancuary, close to Colfiorito, rises up on the remanis of the ancient city of Plestia,dating back to the paleochristian era.Its inhabitants venerated the Cupra godness, called the Mater of Plestins, whose temple has been discovered after archaelogical works.
In fact, these remains  give nowadays the artistic importance to this area.
The church, built in Romanic style, has a elegant portal outdoor and contains a precious cripta.
